Sick little boy. – The Amazing Noah

Today was probably the sickest I’ve ever seen Noah. His body is now reacting from his 4th chemo treatment from last Thursday. We need to keep him hydrated and fever free. Thursday we will go back to the cancer clinic for more labs to make sure his body is strong enough for the 2 hour chemo. Depending on his lab numbers…they will take the

appropriate measures to give his body what is needed for his chemo for that day.

I am hoping his nausea is gone by tomorrow. Jeff and I had tears in our eyes trying to comfort him with his nausea. He has been sick with nausea and gagging since he woke up this morning at 7am. He’s been drinking Gatorade & body armour for the electrolytes and sipping ginger ale for his tummy.

He is sleeping now, so hopefully it helps.

Symptoms

ALL symptoms start when leukemia cells crowd out normal blood cells in bone marrow. The types of symptoms your child has will depend on the numbers of cancer cells and healthy blood cells.

Children with B-cell ALL may:

Bleed or bruise more easily than usual

Feel very tired

Get infections more often

Lose their appetite

Other symptoms include:

Bone or joint pain

Limping

Fever

Pale skin

Red or purple spots called petechiae on the skin

Swollen lymph nodes in the neck, underarms, or groin

If the cancer cells travel to your child’s liver and spleen, these organs can grow large enough to make the belly swell. In some boys, the testicles can also grow larger.
